MSE Capability
Carbon, Compliance & Traceability
MSE builds carbon accounting, regulatory compliance and chain-of-custody into the transaction itself — so the cargo clears its carbon and compliance obligations as a designed feature, not a year-end scramble.
Carbon and compliance are no longer reporting. They are conditions of market access. A tonne without its CBAM data, its certification or its chain of custody is a tonne that cannot clear the border at the price you modelled.
Where value leaks
Where compliance is lost
CBAM data missing at source
Embedded-emissions data not captured at production, so the importer cannot file — and the carbon cost lands as a surprise on the netback.
Certification gap
ISCC, RSB or equivalent not held or not transferred along the chain. The sustainable premium evaporates; the volume cannot be sold as compliant.
Broken chain of custody
Mass-balance or segregation not maintained at a handover, so the whole consignment loses its claim. One weak link voids the lot.
Sanctions and origin exposure
Origin, parties or routing not screened and evidenced, so a compliant-looking trade carries latent sanctions or fraud risk.
Compliance bolted on late
Carbon and certification treated as paperwork after the deal, when the data had to be designed in at the contract and production stage.
How MSE works
Built into the transaction, not bolted on
MSE designs carbon and compliance into the transaction at the contract and production stage, where the data actually originates. Embedded-emissions accounting is set up so CBAM filings are evidenced from source; the certification scheme — ISCC, RSB or sector equivalent — is held and transferred along the chain with the mass-balance or segregation discipline that keeps the claim intact; and origin, parties and routing are screened against the applicable sanctions regimes. The chain of custody is documented end to end. The result is cargo that arrives with its carbon, its certification and its provenance already proven — compliant by design, at the price that was modelled.
Track record
MSE builds CBAM carbon accounting, ISCC and equivalent certification, and chain-of-custody discipline into commodity transactions — with the screening and documentation to evidence compliance from source to delivery.
Mandate format
How an engagement is structured
Advisory mandate
Compliance and carbon design — CBAM, certification and chain-of-custody framework for a transaction or supply chain.
Execution mandate
Implementation and administration — data capture, certification transfer and documentary evidence through delivery.
Engaged as a commission agent under the Swiss Code of Obligations, Art. 425–438. Fee structure — retainer and/or success fee — agreed per mandate.

If your cargo has to prove its carbon, its certification and its provenance to clear the market, MSE will build that in from source.
